Toss-and-Tear Toys

Best Toss-and-Tear Toys

If your pup loves a good game of tug or enjoys tearing into their toys, finding the right one is key. Plush toys may be fun, but they rarely last long. Instead, focus on durable, natural-material options that are great for your dog's teeth and easy to clean. Here’s what to look for:

1. Durability Matters

Dogs with strong jaws can rip through flimsy toys in minutes. Look for reinforced rubber, thick rope, or tough natural wool that can withstand heavy chewing and tugging without breaking apart. When it comes to quality check - look for double and think stitching and avoid PVC plastic at all costs as it is toxic for animals.

2. Natural Materials for Healthy Teeth

Some synthetic materials can be harmful if ingested. Instead, opt for cotton rope, natural rubber, natural wool or jute—all of which provide a safe chewing surface and can even help clean your dog’s teeth naturally. Avoid plush toys and fake-hem toys in all costs. Firstly most of the plush toys are made of pure synthetics, meaning that while tossing and tearing your dog will inhale and swallow microplastic. Fake-hem toys tear very easily and edges of the tears remain quite sharp. This is dangerous! During quick movements your dog might damage his / hers gums and it can even cause bleeding. This is very important for young pups, as their gums are already very sensitive.

3. Easy to Clean

No one wants a slobbery, dirt-caked toy sitting around the house. Choose machine-washable toys or rubber toys that can be rinsed off easily. Avoid porous materials that trap bacteria. Also keep away from synthetic plush toys for outside play as not only they will get dirty easily but also get destroyed in a wash.
